چکیده
Hydrothermal conversion (HC) is a promising thermochemical technology to produce biofuels and bioproducts from biomass. However, the disposal of HC aqueous product (HC-AP) one biggest challenges. This research investigated new biological method using marine protist, Thraustochytrium striatum treat HC-AP hydrothermal carbonization municipal solid waste. A full factorial experiment was carried out examine effects operation conditions on treatment regarding cell growth, cellular lipid accumulation, removals total organic carbon (TOC)/total nitrogen (TN)/total phosphorus (TP)/recalcitrant compounds. Among four factors, only dilution rate concentration had significant all responses, while salinity pH were insignificant. Under optimum conditions, T. achieved 1.27 g/L dry mass 14 % content removing 82 TOC, 53 TN, 94 TP, ∼89 refractory offers platform for valorization.

Physico-Chemical and Biological Treatment of Olive Mill Wastewater by Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) Reactors
The removal performance of total poly phenols and orthodiphenols (o-diphenols) content in olive mill waste (OMW) was investigated with a three stages cross flow laboratory scale rotating biological contactor (RBC) in the present study. Due to high COD and other pollutant in the original OMW, physico-chemical treatment was effected for COD and other pollutant reduction prior to biological tr...
متن کاملDairy Wastewater Treatment using Three-Stage Rotating Biological Contactor (NRBC)
Dairy wastewater is enriched in organic matter (about 45-72 g/l, COD) and also contains biodegradable carbohydrates. A three-stage system, NRBC was fabricated as a bench scale unit for lab experiments, to remove organic carbon from the whey. The fabricated NRBC had several advantages, such as quick start-up, high biomass concentration and was additionally able to handle high organic loading rat...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Treatment of Pharmaceutical Industry Wastewater Using Chemical and Biological Methods (Case Study: Treatment of Wastewater Produced by Production of Methadone and Capecitabine)
Background & objectives: Pharmaceutical wastewater contains high concentrations of organic matter, high salt and difficult biodegradability, so it must be treated before discharge to the environment. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater (methadone feedstock and neutralized capecitabine) using chemical and biological methods. Methods: The laboratory ...
متن کاملCharacterization of hydrochars produced by hydrothermal carbonization of rice husk
Biochar is the carbon-rich product obtained when biomass, such as wood, manure or leaves, is heated in a closed container with little or no available air. In more technical terms, biochar is produced by so-called thermal decomposition of organic material under limited supply of oxygen (O2), and at relatively low temperatures (< 700 C). Hydrochar differentiates from biochar because it is produce...
متن کاملA Novel Protocol for Model Calibration in Biological Wastewater Treatment
Activated sludge models (ASMs) have been widely used for process design, operation and optimization in wastewater treatment plants. However, it is still a challenge to achieve an efficient calibration for reliable application by using the conventional approaches. Hereby, we propose a novel calibration protocol, i.e. Numerical Optimal Approaching Procedure (NOAP), for the systematic calibration ...
